What to do

AWACS interpretation · not source language

What to review: ="Review first that this direct final rule only removes obsolete Treasury regulations (12 CFR parts 810 and 811, 31 CFR part 30, 31 CFR 31.211 through 31.216, and 31 CFR 1010.820), takes effect June 16, 2025 unless significant adverse comment is received by May 15, 2025, and creates no mandatory change or new obligation for lenders."

QC implications

  • No QC testing or sampling is needed because none of the changes is mandatory and no residential mortgage loans are affected.
  • If a QC checklist cites the removed FinCEN civil penalty rule at 31 CFR 1010.820, QC may note that the record describes it as redundant of 31 CFR 1010.821.
