Financial Data Transparency Act Joint Data Standards (final joint rule)

Nine federal agencies, including the CFPB and FHFA, establish joint data standards (LEI, UPI, CFI, ISO 8601 dates, USPS state codes, GENC country codes, ISO 4217 currency codes, and data transmission format properties). The standards apply only to the agencies and change no reporting requirements for lenders or other entities unless an agency later adopts them in separate rulemaking.

QC implications

  • No lender reporting requirements change at the effective date, so QC has no new test points from this rule alone.
  • QC may confirm that no internal reporting or delivery checks were changed because of this rule unless an agency later adopts these standards in separate rulemaking.
